Oly Day

Snatch or clean and jerk

If you’ve been repeatedly hitting 1RM attempts on Oly Day, it’s time to start backing the weight down and fixing whatever is keeping you from breaking your records.

This session is not about limit lifts and PR attempts unless your coach assigns them. Instead, you will be working on specific drills at lighter weight to improve technique, speed and power. A few movements you might see tomorrow:

Snatch balances

Tall snatches and cleans

Hang snatches and cleans

Front and overhead squats

Behind-the-neck jerks

Barbell complexes

Glenn Pendlay on consistency (interestingly enough, the Functional Fitness prescription is mechanics, consistency, intensity–in that order):

Skate Skiing in the Dark?

We head to Mount Evergreen and ski under the stars, then plink some targets at the Lake of the Woods Gun Club.
