Oly day: Snatch or clean (no jerk)

We’re going to use this class to work up to some heavy singles, or your coach will assign you drills, sets, reps and loads designed to help you improve your snatch or clean.

Check out how a good bar path sweeps back toward the athlete as it rises from the floor, and pay particular attention to the pair of snatches at 2:43. Most snatches in our gym are missed like the example on the left. The bar must not be allowed to shoot away from the body at the finish of the second pull. If it does, you’ll jump forward and miss out front. Compare the lifter on the left to the one on the right, and come in prepared to keep the bar tight to your body!
