[/caption] If you have registered to compete in the Functional Fitness Games Open, please sign into the time slots as soon as possible so we can plan to judge and score your workout. If you have any problems doing so, please email info@Functional Fitness204.com and we’ll fix the issue. The dedicated slots are Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., as well as Sundays at 11:30 a.m. Regularly scheduled classes are cancelled during those times. We will not know the workouts until 7 p.m. on Wednesday each week, and we will be looking to make heats and assign judges based on numbers and the length of workouts. The sooner you sign in, the less chaos there will be and the smoother things will go. In some cases, we will be talking to competitors with judging experience about scoring workouts for other members. We’re fired up to watch you compete! Below is a short FAQ. Should I plan to redo a workout? In most cases, no. You should plan to give it your all once and get back to training for the next week. In certain circumstances, do-overs are necessary, but they are seldom preferred or fun. Will the rest of the gym be doing the workouts anyway? Yes. Provided we can manage the equipment requirements and scale appropriately, we will be programming the Open events, or a version of them, into the regular group classes. Can people come to watch? Absolutely, but they have to take their shoes off or bring indoor shoes. Will judges be provided? Yes. Will you go over the standards? Yes, but please read the workout descriptions and practice the movements ahead of time. You know in class when the wall-ball doesn’t quite hit the line on the very last rep and no one is looking but it’s pretty close and it might have hit the line or maybe the shadow hit the line and it was basically on the line so it gets counted anyway? Those reps won’t count. Judges will be friendly but will enforce the posted standards to the letter of the law. It’s up to you to make the reps count. Can you tell me ahead of time when my heat will be? If everyone signs in, we probably can. We will get that info out if possible. But because we are planning for unknown workouts, expect some nights to go a bit later. For instance, if we have 20 athletes doing a 20-minute workout, things will get somewhat congested. Will I have to upload my own score? Yes, and we will validate it. We will have a computer available for you to use. Upload your score ASAP after the workout and make damn sure it’s in by Sunday afternoon. What if I can’t complete a movement? We’ll give it your best effort, and if it just doesn’t happen, we’ll scale the workout so you can have some fun. Should I be nervous? Not really. We do workouts like this every single day. It’s just another session on the rubber. What if I’m nervous? Talk to your coaches and friends. Everyone is cheering for you!
